Had the pleasure of going to the museum on my birthday. After having putting off the museum for as long as I could, we finally went to have a look. I'd heard bad things about the museum and the layout there, but I found no faults regarding the presentation of objects. I was pleasantly surprised on all accounts and have spent most of the weekend sorting through all the badly lit photos I took and getting them ready for here.
I'll mix up the posts between ephemera and science to break up the page over the days. Meanwhile, the bug collection is as creepy as expected. Some of them would make you want to vomit in fear if you ever saw them alive. Therefore, seeing them pinned up, dead and helpless, appeals to my enlightened rational side. The dominance of man of nature, forcing it into nice and neat grids, preserved for all to look, learn and point.
That'll teach them.
