Mr Fontef
It comes with great pleasure that I present the (fairly young) photoblog from the esteemed Israeli typographer, Mr Yanek Iontef. For those of you unfamiliar with hebrew signage I suggest you take a look; it takes a little while to understand the structure of the hebrew alphabet in comparison to latin letterforms, but once you do, a great richness emerges. He has produced many fine typefaces; several of which I used as the basis for understanding patterns in hebrew faces while I was there (more on that if I finish the font), appearing in newspapers, signage and the like. For those of you interested in learning more about him and his work, there's an informing interview over at Oketz.
I've had plenty of photos I took while I was in Israel, I guess this gives me the impetus I need to put them up here. He actually has a few pieces that I took as well.
